Writing for Wellness

Writing is an amazing tool that connects us with our deepest selves. Numerous studies have shown that expressive and creative writing reduces stress, helps people heal from trauma, and alleviates the symptoms and suffering of people facing health challenges.  

 

For more than 25 years, I have facilitated writing groups and workshops designed to help participants use writing as a way to support their mental and physical health. I've worked with people with disabilities and chronic illness, trauma survivors, and seniors, as well as groups simply interested in writing to improve mood, outlook and overall wellness. 

 

I recently formalized my teaching in this area into Write Well!, an evidence-based program for people wanting to improve their health, support healing, and increase happiness through writing.

 

My recently released book, Write for Wellness, is a step-by-step guide for anyone wanting to harness the power of expressive and creative writing to support their health.

 

I provide Write Well! workshops in the community, at conferences, and other venues.
